Eligibility & Cost Coverage

All part-time and full-time students at UVic are welcome to use our services.

We accept all provincial health insurance plans in Canada, excluding Quebec.

International students and others who do not have medical insurance that will cover them during the entire period of stay in British Columbia are required to apply for enrollment in the British Columbia Medical Services Plan immediately upon their arrival in British Columbia.

International students can enroll in a three month private medical insurance plan until they become eligible for the BC Medical Services Plan. This coverage is for three months, during which time they become eligible for BC medical insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions are often not covered by private medical insurance plans. Undergraduate Extended Health Plan

The UVSS has recently made significant changes to the UVSS Health and Dental Plan. The new undergraduate extended heath plan is through Student Care.

Graduate Extended Health Plan
